The team at Mike’s Garage Door is incredibly humbled and honored that we were chosen to be a part of Operation FINALLY HOME. The project was for the Raymer family in Warsaw, Indiana and was completed in September 2017.
Operation FINALLY HOME
A nonpartisan/nonprofit organization, Operation FINALLY HOME was established in 2005 and builds homes for our country’s military heroes. To date, they have provided over 230 homes, in more than states, giving custom-built, mortgage-free homes to those in our military as well as the widows of the fallen, those who have worn America’s uniform and sacrificed so much to defend our freedoms and values.
Their mission and vision? “We bring together corporate sponsors, builder associations, builders, remodelers, developers, individual contributors, and volunteers to help these Heroes and their families by addressing one of their most pressing needs – a place to call home.”
U.S. Army SSG Justin Raymer Dedication in Warsaw, IN
Last September, the annual Homes on Parade in Warsaw, Indiana was kicked off by a dedication ceremony for the home built for U.S. Army SSG Justin Raymer and his family. The home was also featured in the parade.
The home (100% mortgage-free) was the result of a number of different organizations:
- Operation FINALLY HOME
- The Builders Association of Kosciusko Fulton Counties
- Builder of record and committee chairman John Kidd of R.W. Kidd Construction
- More than 140 local businesses and individuals who donated building materials, skilled labor, cash, and/or volunteered to help complete the home (including Mike’s Garage Door)
